TOVILAB Terms of Service
Effective date: To be announced (the day international sales open) (Korean original: effective September 29, 2026. First effective August 31, 2026.)
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions for using all programs and services (the "Services") provided by TOVILAB (the "Company"), and the rights and obligations of the Company and of users.
The Services currently offered are listed below. These Terms also apply to Services the Company adds in the future.
| Name | What it is |
|---|---|
| VoiceDaejang (보이스대장) | A program that turns written text into speech. It is installed on your computer. |
Each Service may have its own price and conditions of use. Where they differ, what is stated on that Service's purchase or information page comes first, and these Terms apply to everything not covered there.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- Service means every program the Company provides, together with everything that belongs to it.
- Program means software that is installed and used on the user's computer.
- User means a person who has agreed to these Terms, created an account, and uses the Services.
- Trial means free use up to a set amount. For VoiceDaejang, the Trial is 30,000 characters at sign-up, and up to 30,000 more characters may be granted under Article 6(7). The amount differs from Service to Service.
- Full Version means use for which a fee has been paid. The scope of use (amount and period) follows what is stated on each Service's purchase page. The Full Version of VoiceDaejang has no character limit and no time limit.
- Output means the files a user creates with a Service. For VoiceDaejang, this means the audio files and subtitle files.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Company's website (https://tovilab.com) and inside the Program.
- The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- Amendments are announced on the website at least 7 days before they take effect. Amendments that are unfavorable to users are announced at least 30 days before, and are also sent to the email address registered to the account.
- If a user continues to use the Program after the announcement, the user is deemed to have accepted the amended Terms.
- However, the core conditions of a license you have already paid for (scope of use, period, and whether commercial use is permitted) will never become less favorable than the conditions at the time of purchase, even if these Terms are amended. A Full Version user who does not agree to other parts of the amended Terms may continue to use the Program under the conditions in force at the time of purchase.
Article 4 (Accounts)
- A user creates an account with an email address and a password. An account may also be created with a Google account.
- One account is used on one computer. If you log in on another computer, the login on the previous computer is released.
- If you replace parts of your computer or move to a new computer, you can keep using the Program simply by logging in again.
- An account may not be lent or sold to anyone else.
- Keeping your password safe is your responsibility. If you suspect that someone else has used your account, please notify the Company immediately.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to purchase the Full Version. A minor may use the Services only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Article 5 (Nature of the Program)
This Article is written for VoiceDaejang. When a new Program is released, how that Program works will be described separately on its purchase page and in these Terms.
VoiceDaejang is a product operated on the basis of generative artificial intelligence.
- Speech is generated on your own computer. It is not generated on the Company's servers and sent to you.
- For that reason, your script and the audio files you create are never sent to the Company's servers. The only thing sent to the server is the number of characters (a number), which is used to count your Trial amount.
- An internet connection is required when the Program starts, to verify your license. Only your login information is used for this verification. If the connection drops briefly while the Program is running, the work you are doing is not interrupted.
Article 6 (Trial)
The amount and conditions of the Trial are stated on each Service's purchase page. For VoiceDaejang they are as follows.
- The Company grants every user who signs up a Trial amount of 30,000 characters.
- The Trial amount is counted by the number of characters converted into speech.
- Once the Trial amount is used up, you need to purchase the Full Version to continue.
- Output created during the Trial may be used freely, exactly as Output created with the Full Version.
- The Trial is limited to one per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain more Trial characters is not permitted. The Company may limit this based on the number of accounts created on the same computer, and may refuse to grant or may withdraw the Trial amount of an account created by a person who has already received a Trial.
- There is no limit on the number of Full Version accounts. If you need several accounts, you may purchase as many as you need.
- When your Trial amount is nearly used up, the Program will ask for the three optional
consents needed to receive marketing emails (receiving marketing communications, use of
personal data for sending marketing communications, and transfer of personal data to
service providers outside your country for sending marketing communications). If you
give all three, the Company grants 30,000 additional Trial characters.
- Users who already gave all three consents at sign-up are not asked again and do not receive this additional amount.
- This is limited to one per person, and paragraph 5 applies as well.
- Declining has no effect whatsoever on your sign-up or on the Trial under paragraph 1.
- If you later withdraw your consent, the characters already granted are not withdrawn.
Article 7 (Fees and Payment)
- The Full Version fee and the available payment methods are as displayed on the Company's website and at authorized sales channels.
- Purchases made on the international purchase page are processed by Paddle. Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited, or Paddle.com Inc. for customers in the United States) is the Company's authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects the payment, applies and remits any applicable taxes, issues the invoice or receipt, and handles refunds in accordance with Article 8. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms. The price is displayed on the purchase page in US dollars and is a one-time payment.
- If you purchase through another authorized sales channel, payment and refunds are also subject to that channel's rules.
- If you pay by bank transfer, the Company converts your account to the Full Version after confirming receipt of the payment.
Article 8 (Cancellation and Refunds)
- You may cancel your purchase within 14 days of the payment date.
- However, once you have converted your account to the Full Version, delivery of the digital content has begun, and your right to cancel is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law. Conversion to the Full Version is a separate step from payment: it takes place only after this limitation has been shown to you and you have expressly confirmed it. Even after payment, as long as you have not converted to the Full Version, you may cancel within the period in paragraph 1 and receive a full refund. In place of this limitation, the Company provides the Trial under Article 6 (30,000 characters for VoiceDaejang) in advance, so that you can try the Program thoroughly before deciding to buy.
- In the following cases you will receive a full refund even if you have used the
Program:
- the Program does not run properly on your computer and the Company fails to resolve the problem within 7 days;
- a main feature announced by the Company is in fact missing;
- you were unable to use the Service for more than 30 days due to the Company's fault.
- Refunds are processed within 3 business days of receiving your request. Refunds for purchases made through Paddle are issued by Paddle to the original payment method. Refunds for purchases made through another sales channel follow that channel's procedure.
- Nothing in this Article limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
Article 9 (Rights in Output)
- The rights in the Output you create (for VoiceDaejang, the speech and subtitles) belong to you. The Company claims no rights of any kind in your Output.
- You may use your Output commercially, including in videos, broadcasts, advertisements, and paid content.
- However, when creating Output with VoiceDaejang, you must comply with the AI Voice Usage Terms (a separate document). Those terms were set by the creator of the speech model the Program uses, and the Company is bound by them as well.
- You are responsible for your Output.
Article 10 (Rights in the Program and Prohibited Acts)
- The rights in the Program and in the voice data it contains belong to the Company.
- Users may not:
- copy the Program and give or sell it to others;
- take the Program apart or modify it (including reverse engineering and decompiling);
- extract the voice data files alone and use them in another program;
- share one account among several people;
- create multiple accounts to obtain more Trial characters (Article 6(5));
- run the Program automatically and in bulk in a way that burdens the Service.
- If you violate the above, the Company may suspend your use or terminate the agreement after giving prior notice. In urgent cases, the Company may suspend first and notify you immediately afterwards.
- Notwithstanding paragraph 2, if you have entered into a separate written agreement with the Company, different terms may apply within the scope of that agreement. Examples include use by several people within one company, or modifying the Program to embed it in your own service. Please contact us if you need this.
- Even under a separate agreement, the use restrictions in the AI Voice Usage Terms continue to apply in full. Those restrictions were set by the creator of the speech model, and the Company cannot waive them.
Article 11 (Suspension and Changes to the Service)
- The Company may temporarily suspend the Service in the following cases:
- server maintenance, replacement, or failure;
- interruption of service by a telecommunications carrier;
- natural disasters or other events beyond the Company's control.
- Suspensions that can be foreseen are announced 7 days in advance.
- The Company maintains redundant systems so that a problem in one place does not stop the Program from working.
- If the Company discontinues the Service entirely, it will give 90 days' notice.
- For time-limited licenses, the Company refunds the amount corresponding to the remaining period.
- For licenses purchased with a single payment for continued use (the VoiceDaejang Full Version), instead of a monetary refund the Company will deliver a final update. Once you install that update, you can keep using the Program you have already installed without an internet connection and without any verification by the Company. Your Output also remains yours to use.
Article 12 (Closing Your Account)
- You may close your account at any time. Send a request to the Company's email address and we will process it.
- When you close your account, the account and the records belonging to it are deleted without delay. Records that the law requires us to keep are retained for the period the law specifies (see the Privacy Policy).
- If a Full Version user closes their account, the license is lost with it and is not restored if the user signs up again. The Company will remind you of this once more before processing the closure. If you wish to stop using the Program because you do not agree to an amendment of these Terms, you do not need to close your account: under Article 3(5) you may continue under the conditions in force at the time of purchase.
- Output you have already created is on your own computer, so you may continue to use it regardless of whether you close your account.
Article 13 (Company's Liability)
- The Company makes every effort to keep the Program running properly.
- The Company is not liable in the following cases:
- loss caused by a user's violation of these Terms or of the AI Voice Usage Terms;
- loss caused by problems with the user's computer or by telecommunications failures;
- natural disasters or other events beyond the Company's control;
- disputes arising from the content of a user's Output, or from Output that infringes the rights of others;
- loss resulting from the decisions of a platform on which Output is published (such as YouTube), including policy changes, reviews, monetization restrictions, or account sanctions (including suspension of revenue or removal of videos).
- If a user suffers loss through the Company's fault, the Company's liability is limited to the amount the user paid to the Company in the preceding 12 months. This limitation does not apply in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company.
Article 14 (Disputes and Governing Law)
- If a dispute arises between the Company and a user, the parties will first try to resolve it by discussion.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- If a dispute cannot be resolved by discussion, either party may bring an action before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
- If you are a consumer, nothing in this Article deprives you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, or, where that law so provides, of the right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
Article 15 (Territory and Language)
- The international purchase page is offered to customers in the countries listed on that page. It is currently not offered to customers located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. The Company may decline, or cancel and refund, orders placed from a territory in which the Service is not offered.
- These Terms are provided in Korean, English, and Spanish. For purchases made on the international purchase page, the English version applies.
