AI Voice Usage Terms
Effective date: To be announced (the day international sales open) (Korean original: effective September 21, 2026.)
Why this document exists separately
VoiceDaejang uses a speech synthesis model released publicly by Supertone. That model is released under the BigScience Open RAIL-M License.
The license permits commercial use. You are free to use the speech you create in videos, broadcasts, and advertisements, and to earn money from it.
However, the license comes with a list of uses that are not allowed, and that list passes on to everyone who uses the Program. The creator of the model set these conditions, and the Company received the model on the condition that it would comply with them too.
For that reason the Company passes these conditions on to you unchanged, and you must agree to them when you sign up.
Article 1 (What you must comply with)
You agree not to use speech created with VoiceDaejang for any of the following purposes. The wording below follows Attachment A of the model's license.
A. Breaking the law
In any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local, or international law or regulation.
B. Harming people
- For the purpose of exploiting, harming, or attempting to exploit or harm minors in any way.
- To defame, disparage, or otherwise harass others.
- To generate or disseminate personal identifiable information that can be used to harm an individual.
- To generate or disseminate verifiably false information and/or content with the purpose of harming others.
C. Pretending to be someone else ★
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate others without their consent (so-called deepfakes).
- To generate or disseminate content and place it in any context without expressly and intelligibly disclaiming that the content is machine generated — that is, passing off synthetic speech as a real person speaking.
- To present or advertise a VoiceDaejang voice as the voice of a specific real person (for example, describing it as "the voice of voice actor ○○○" or "the same voice as announcer ○○○").
The second item is the one that most often causes problems in practice. When you use the speech on YouTube, in a podcast, in an advertisement, and so on, simply add one line such as "This is an AI-generated voice" in the description or the subtitles.
VoiceDaejang's voices were created by learning only the timbre of voices from publicly available speech datasets. For that reason a voice may sound similar to the person who made the original recording. However, that voice does not represent or stand in for that person, and that person has not endorsed it. If you tie a voice to a specific real person, you infringe that person's rights, and you bear the responsibility for doing so.
D. Discrimination
- For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against or harming individuals or groups based on online or offline social behavior or known or predicted personal or personality characteristics.
- For any use intended to or which has the effect of discriminating against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories (such as sex, age, disability, or origin).
- To exploit any of the vulnerabilities of a specific group of persons based on their age, social, physical, or mental characteristics, in order to materially distort the behavior of a person belonging to that group in a manner that causes or is likely to cause that person or another person physical or psychological harm.
E. Leaving decisions about people's rights entirely to a machine
For fully automated decision making that adversely impacts an individual's legal rights or otherwise creates or modifies a binding, enforceable obligation.
F. Medicine and justice ★
- To provide medical advice and medical results interpretation.
- To generate or disseminate information for the purpose of being used for the administration of justice, law enforcement, immigration, or asylum processes, such as predicting that an individual will commit a crime.
You may still make videos that deal with health information. What is prohibited is diagnosing or prescribing for an individual, such as telling a person "you have this disease" or "take this medicine."
Article 2 (Rights in the speech you create)
- The rights in the speech you create belong to you. Neither the Company nor the creator of the model claims any rights in your output.
- However, you are responsible for your output.
- You bear all legal responsibility arising from speech created in violation of Article 1.
Article 3 (When you pass your speech on to others)
If you pass the speech you have created on to others in a way that lets them use it again (for example, by distributing the audio files, or by building another service on them), you must pass the conditions in Article 1 on to them unchanged.
This is required by the original license of the model.
Article 4 (Requests to remove a voice)
Some of VoiceDaejang's voices were created by learning the timbre of voices from speech
datasets released publicly for academic research. Every dataset used is disclosed in "Third-party notices" at the end of the Terms of Service inside the Program, and in NOTICE.txt in the installation folder.
If a person who personally recorded their voice for one of those datasets wishes to have the voice derived from their recording removed from this product, the Company handles the request as follows.
- Where to send it — tovilabcompany@gmail.com
- Response time — a human being will reply within 14 days of receiving the request.
- Verification — please include information that lets us identify which dataset and which speaker is concerned. We may ask for additional material to confirm that you are that person.
- Once verified — the Company will immediately stop selling that voice and remove it in the next update of the Program.
- An honest statement of the limits — the Company cannot forcibly delete the voice from the computers of people who have already downloaded and are using the Program. It disappears when they install the update. Likewise, the Company cannot recall audio files that were already created before the removal.
- Cost — there is no charge of any kind for this request.
This Article is a commitment the Company made on its own, before any law required it. The Company respects the rights of the people whose voices were used.
Article 5 (In case of violation)
- If the Company learns that a user has violated Article 1, the Company may suspend the user's access or terminate the agreement after giving prior notice. In urgent cases, such as those involving minors, the Company may suspend first and notify the user immediately afterwards.
- In such cases no refund is given.
- The Company is not liable for any loss arising from the user's violation.
Article 6 (Original text)
This document is a plain-language version written so that users can read it easily. The original license text is included unchanged in the Program's installation folder:
resources\models\supertonic3\LICENSE
If this document and the original license differ, the original license prevails. The list of use restrictions in the original is found in Attachment A of that file.
